The amazing experience I had while capturing this image will be one that I will never forget. A local Indian man 'Lional Bigthumb' guided me around for an entire day, showing me the best things to see in the slot canyons in Page, Arizona. On this particular shot, he had cleared out the room which was full of tourists, at least 60, so I could capture a few photographs of the light shaft piecing through the canyon ceiling. He then picked up a hand full of dirt from the ground and threw it up into the air so the light shaft could be distinguished. As it settled and he moved out of the way, I took this shot. The result is a unique image, 2 seconds of time captured forever, where I feel like a Spirit is rising up from the ground to follow the light. I hope you enjoy it.
