Mount Everest, Sagarmatha National Park ~ NEPAL
Limited Edition: 50 Prints only
The top of the world collides with the Universe.
Taken from 5450m in altitude @ 2.45am and -18 degrees celsius. Yep, as you can imagine, this was an absolute struggle. Just the thought of waking up in the middle of the night to climb a mountain felt like a ridiculous idea, but funnily enough, I've never felt so inspired and motivated like this before. This was my only chance to capture this scene that I literally dreamt about, I just had to do it!
Climbing Kala Patthar is challenging enough, but doing at night is something else. Plus to make matters worse, the moon was rising fast and I needed to get my shot before it lifted up over the mountain range. Time wasn't on my side. I had to stop about 300m before the summit to setup my gear, and 2 minutes after this exposure was captured, the moonlight washed out the scene and the shot was gone! When I eventually regathered feeling in my face and fingers, I felt pretty damn lucky!
